Shopfully
Rating: 4.4 - 300,000 votes
Want catalogues but don't want them all and sick of the mass amounts of paper used?

This is for you. Shopfully digitises mass amounts of catalogues for easy viewing and shopping. Set up your preferences and get notified when new deals are live.

Pros

  • Location based
  • Notified of new catalogues around you

Cons

  • Lots of notifications
  • Hard to turn them off

Ozbargains
Rating: 4.2 - less than 1,000 votes
One of the largest community based deals/coupons sites in Australia.

You'll find deals from categories like travel, electronics, utilities, food, and gaming. Please note this is an unofficial app and contains links pointing out of Ozbargain.com.au

Pros

  • Very easy to use
  • No ads
  • Highly customisable

Cons

  • Unofficial (no account connection)
  • No iOS app

Groupon
Rating: 4.5 - 1,500,000 votes
You've probably already heard of these guys, but how often do you actually check out the deals they have on offer?

As with a few of the other apps - you won't have to anymore. Set up alerts for things you want to do and Groupon will automatically notify you.

Pros

  • Huge database of businesses
  • Easy to use and customise
  • Great for groups

Cons

  • Poor customer service
  • Deals can sometimes hurt the business (they lose money)

GasBuddy
Rating: 4.6 - 750,000 votes
Save time, save money, and save the hassle of looking for the cheapest price. GasBuddy will do it all for you.

You can filter & sort by a huge range of options letting you find exactly what you're looking for. There has been a recent increase in negative feedback around their GPS location feature - just a heads up.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Filters are great
  • Quite accurate

Cons

  • Lots of notifications
  • Can turn on GPS automatically (draining battery)

CashMaster
Rating: 4.1 - less than 1,000 votes
Shameless self-promo - CashMaster is all about helping you save money so I felt obliged to include it.

From understanding your expenses, keeping track of your cash flow, setting up money goals and a whole lot more - if you're after a budgeting/cash flow tool give it a shot.

Pros

  • Bird's eye overview of finances
  • Free to use
  • Easily track & understand your expenses

Cons

  • Takes a bit of time to set up

Skyscanner
Rating: 4.6 - 450,000 votes
Flights - the only gloomy part about booking a holiday. With Skyscanner? Gloom go boom.

Simply set up an alert for the flight you're looking for well in advance of the departure date and wait for the deals to roll in.

Pros

  • No extra booking fees
  • Fast, quick, and easy to use

Cons

  • No multi-destination for Android
  • Can't install on SD card (about 64mb)

Recipe Calendar
Rating: 4.6 - 3,500 votes
We've touched on how easy it is these days to stay healthy. Now it's going to get even easier with this meal planner & recipe database.

Hundreds of recipes and you can plan your weekly food with ease.

Pros

  • Massive database of recipes
  • Can plan whole week of food

Cons

  • Lots of features only available on premium
  • A bit difficult to use in the beginning
  • No iOS

1/2 Price
Rating: 4.5 - less than 1,000 votes
Half price specials are something to be in awe of. Thanks to Cody Liu, you'll never have to waste time trolling the aisles again.

Updated every Wednesday morning, this app shows you all the 1/2 price specials from Coles, Woolworths and IGA.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • All offers in one place

Cons

  • Few to no IGA offers
  • Lots of ads
  • No iOS app

Loop
Rating: 4.7 - 14,000 votes
The habit tracker to end all habit trackers. It's not used by more than a million people for no reason - it simply works. The insights it provides and enticement it gives to stick to your habits is brilliant.

Having used it myself over the past 4 months, I can attest to its effectiveness.

Pros

  • It's fantastic

Cons

  • No iOS app

If you've made it this far, the apps above don't seem to be doing their jobs!
